The Office of Human Resources Management is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and professional work environment where your voice is heard. We strive to address all concerns with respect, fairness, and professionalism while upholding University policies and procedures.
In turn, you can easily and confidentially report an uncomfortable incident or situation, as well as ask questions using the Report a Concern Form. Once we receive your submission, we are committed to:
- Reviewing thoroughly all reported concerns/questions.
- Maintaining confidentiality. Note: All reports are treated confidentially, to the extent possible, with information shared only on a need-to-know basis. The University strictly prohibits retaliation against any employee who makes a good-faith report of a concern or participates in an investigation. Anonymous reporting is available; however, providing your name and contact information allows us to follow up for additional details and better address your concern.
- Protecting you from any form of retaliation for good-faith reporting to uphold the University’s Policy & Procedures Against Harassment, Discrimination, and Retaliation in Employment.
- Taking appropriate action to address verified concerns/questions.
This form is specifically designed, but not limited to, addressing the following categories of workplace concerns/questions:
- Allegations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in the workplace.
- Concerns of uncivil behavior or unprofessional conduct.
- Interpersonal conflicts with another member of the Fordham community.
- Questions about a workplace policy.
- Allegations of misuse of confidential information or University resources.
- Questions about the University’s drug or alcohol in the workplace policies, as highlighted in Sections 1-17 and 1-18 of the Employee Handbook.
- Allegations of misconduct not covered by other reporting mechanisms.
- Other general workplace concerns/questions.
General process once you submit a concern:
1. The report is reviewed in relation to governing University policies by the HR Labor and Employee Relations (HRL&ER) team.
2. The HRL&ER Team contacts you, if you provided your contact information, to discuss options, applicable University policies to address your concern, and potential supportive measures.
3. HRL&ER Team recommends appropriate employment actions, if applicable, to address the concern.
4. HRL&ER Team informs you of the outcome.
Union Members
If you are a member of a union, you may also refer to your respective Collective Bargaining Agreements to determine if there are other suitable channels (e.g., filing a grievance) to address your concern.
