A Reciprocal Scholarship Program Among Member Colleges

Fordham is a member institution of the Tuition Exchange (TE) Program, which provides an opportunity for eligible dependent children who are high school seniors of eligible full-time faculty members, administrators, Local 153, and Local 810 members to apply for scholarships at over 700 colleges and universities. TE is a reciprocal scholarship program that facilitates the exchange of students among member colleges. No monetary funds are exchanged.
TE scholarships are not guaranteed. It’s a competitive process with the decision of acceptance or denial made by the importing school. The importing school determines the value of the TE scholarship and is either the annual set rate (for AY 2025-2026, it is $43,000 a year) or full tuition. If a TE scholarship is awarded, it is part of the institution’s financial aid package that is offered to the accepted student.TE has a new student-driven application procedure requiring the eligible dependent to first create an account on the TE portal before starting the application process. A new application is unnecessary if your dependent has already been awarded a TE Scholarship. The TE Scholarship award is for a maximum of eight (8) semesters of undergraduate study. Please notify tuitionexchange@fordham.edu if your dependent is no longer a student at the awarding institution.
Fordham’s TE application opens on July 1 and closes on November 1, 2025. There is a $50 application fee for each submitted TE application. Payment instructions will be sent out after November 1, 2025. To learn more about the application process, click on How to Apply. For more information, visit Tuition Exchange Answers to Common Questions.
Fordham also participates in the Faculty Staff Children Exchange (FACHEX) program, an undergraduate program that allows children eligible for tuition remission at their home institution (Fordham University) to receive the same benefits at another participating Jesuit school. Georgetown University does not participate in FACHEX. The FACHEX Program is separate from the TE Program; however, it’s administered by Student Financial Services using the TE EZ App. For questions, email fachex@fordham.edu.
Note: There is a combined 20-school limit when applying to the TE and FACHEX programs.
Do not apply to Fordham University for a TE scholarship. Dependents attending Fordham University are required to utilize Tuition Remission benefits.
